Lottie Spencer

The sixth child of Christians in Action (CinA) founding missionaries, Bill and Adeline Quisenberry, Lottie Spencer first entered the mission field of Japan circa 1955 when she was a year and a half old. Her parents later served in southern Brazil in the early 1960s where Lottie began to think about becoming a missionary herself. Back again, as a teenager, in Okinawa, from 1966 until 1972, Lottie and her older sister, Ruthie, supported her parent’s ministry, not only with CinA Japanese churches but also with the two Christians in Action churches that ministered to US military personnel stationed on the island.

Lottie graduated from high school and married her sweetheart, Bob Spencer, who had been a US marine serving on Okinawa. Together they graduated from Christians in Action missionary training in 1974 in Long Beach, California, and left to serve in Brazil. There they served sharing Christ and planting churches until about 1999 when Bob was asked to return to CinA HQ which had been relocated to Woodlake, CA, to serve as vice president. Then from 2012 until 2015, they saw the need to travel to Colombia to spearhead the Vision 60 outreach geared to train disciples and plant 60 new churches throughout the country. In 2016 it took some time for Bob to recover from some poor personal decisions during which time it was found that he had a serious case of cancer and eventually passed away in 2022. Lottie is now retired, living in California, and making occasional trips back to her mission fields to encourage those continuing the ministry there.
