John & Margie hope to raise up a self-replicating army of young Disciples for Christ through their ministry. God has placed a special burden in their hearts to show His love to the children, widows and elderly. Providing a meal or school supplies to a small child often keeps them from having to work the sugar cane fields to meet these simple needs.
In the mountains of the Philippines, John & Margie’s community involvement includes showing the love of Jesus through elementary school outreaches, feeding programs, and Bible study. They also provide drinking water through community well planting projects that bring people together to hear the gospel, and be discipled.
“We have seen God use our outreach at a mountain school to attract favorable attention by the local government. Parents of the children were so appreciative of the school supplies & vitamins provided, that they began voluntarily performing maintenance/beautification projects on the grounds. This led the district to provide additional funding to improve the school’s facilities.”
