The Lord led Michael and Melissa Fisher on a short-term mission trip to Kraków, Poland in 2018, and their hearts were immediately drawn to the Polish people. Following this first encounter, the Fishers knew that they were called by Father God to love the people of Kościoł Dla Miasta Krakowa (KDM – Church for the City), Kraków, and Poland with the heart of Father God. They were blessed to return to Poland with four more trips and each time their hearts were touched by, and their love grew for, the Polish people.
In October 2023, the journey to the city of Kraków to live and spread the love of Jesus throughout the city and beyond began. The Fisher’s are leading the KDM prayer team and are providing Christ-centered counseling for people that are desiring freedom from their struggles. They also serve in other areas of the church, such as leaders for the KDM English service, leading bible study, serving a home group, in marriage ministry, and men’s and women’s ministries. Their focus is to bring hope into darkness and to share the freedom Jesus has for each of us “SOWing” the seeds of Father God’s love and preparing for the harvest that is coming.
The Fishers are also partnering with KDM in planting churches around Poland. There are currently plans for church plants in three cities: Wieliczka, Katowice, and Kielce. KDM is also partnering with a small church in Kyiv, Ukraine, that KDM sends a small team one weekend a month to support them. These church plants are the beginning of the greater plan of spreading the love of Jesus. Jesus commands us in Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit…”; and Matthew 10:7-8 “And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand’; heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons…”. This summarizes the heart the Fisher’s have for Father God and the world: KDM’s slogan, “Kochamy Boga, kochamy ludzi, zmieniamy świat!” which means, “We love God, we love people, we are changing the world!”
