Life for Life

Eduardo and Shirley share similar stories from their childhoods, both having a relationship with God that began when they were young. In Sunday School, their teachers instilled in them the love of God and since then they have both served God in various ministries within the church. As a married couple, they have also prepared themselves and trained to serve the Lord as He leads.

Since 2019, Eduardo has felt a strong call from God to evangelize and preach the love of Christ in Catamayo, Province of Loja, Ecuador. When the Lord put it in his heart to raise up a missionary work in this area, God established the following vision to:

  • Be a Christian Church focused on individual evangelism as a collective of the community where we serve.
  • Make disciples with the power, the authority, and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • Reflect the Glory and Greatness of the Creator.
  • Sow truth in many hearts, that the Lord Jesus gave his life in exchange for ours (LIFE FOR LIFE) John 3:16.

Today Eduardo and his wife Shirley find themselves fulfilling that vision as they serve the Lord full-time with their family. Currently they are establishing churches in their town to better develop the pastoral ministry to which God has called them. They are seeing the hand and mercy of God reach many as they serve the local community in the following ways:

  • Houses of peace that motivate the believer to study the Bible.
  • Discipling families, children, adults, and young adults.
  • Ministering through pastoral counseling.
  • Evangelizing sectors that are difficult to access through the love of Jesus.
  • Visiting vulnerable sectors and those with limited economic resources, helping with food and clothing where possible.
  • Praying for people with disabilities.
  • Visiting schools in order to raise awareness among young people with drug prevention workshops and sharing the love of God.
  • Praying for the elderly and children with cancer, among others.
  • In the Ministerial field, they are discipling and raising up new leaders to be their support in the Ministry.

The vision moving forward that God has put in their hearts is that, by 2033, they will be a church with influence in their community, legally constituted by the establishments of the Ecuadorian government. After this they will be able to reach many more places in their country. Their objective is to support more local Missionaries who share the same passion to reach those who still do not know the love of Christ. For now it is a dream, but with God’s help, all things are possible.
