Leonard Rosenfeld first served as a Christians in Action missionary in London, England, beginning in 1974, where among other ministries, he pioneered outreach to the Jewish communities. There he met and married his wife, Joy, and together they continued their ministry in London. In 1978 they moved to California to work at the mission headquarters, first located in North Long Beach, and later moved to Woodlake, CA. Their skill sets with numbers and typing served Christians in Action well as Leonard worked in accounting and Joy became secretary to the president. Leonard and Joy retired in 2014 from Christians in Action and moved to Portland, Oregon, to be near their children. Joy passed away in 2023, but Leonard has continued their retirement ministry to the homeless both on the streets and through a local food pantry.
