Building People, Building Community, Building Nations.
Freddie and Wanda’s journey began in 1980 when they came to London as African American missionaries, which were very rare. They worked first among inner-city youth and have been involved with mentoring and youth retreats for many years. In the early years, Freddie took responsibility for their missionary training school and did the majority of the teaching. He was eventually appointed as field leader in 1986, then in 1991 became the senior pastor of their church in London. In 2010 Freddie was appointed as Area Director for Europe and India, which made him responsible for the encouragement and development of existing ministries and for any expansion. Freddie and Wanda have been able to travel to many of these ministries in several countries throughout Europe, Asia and Africa, bringing the same message of God’s transformative love to build individuals, communities and nations.
Current goals for Freddie and Wanda’s ministry in London are threefold. Their first priority is the leadership and development of their established church, which includes its growth, and development. In this way they are reaching the nations in London and working with other churches in their area to reach their community.
A significant part of reaching their community has been the establishment of their Bible school. This has been their second priority and has made it possible to train and disciple not only their own church members, but has made them a blessing to many other churches as well. They have just celebrated their 10th year as a training program and have had the privilege of ministering to and teaching 261 students, not including their latest intake. Finally, their third priority has been to help form strategies and raise awareness and financial assistance for ministries in Europe, India and Sierra Leone. In India there are now 28 churches that are growing in spite of great persecution in the region. Although travel to this area is difficult, several new churches have recently been planted and many new leaders are being trained there. In Sierra Leone, a retreat for church leaders was sponsored in 2018 which was a great success. An expansion of this, including a medical clinic, is planned for 2025.
