Yomitan International Church is a multicultural church family, founded by a missions organization called Christians In Action after World War II. Our purpose is still rooted in the Father’s Heart, and dedicated to seeing His heart transform Okinawa, Japan. Our vision is to establish a Kingdom Culture where anyone can meet Jesus. Our mission is that everyone would encounter God, be equipped by the Word, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to change the world around them. We want to see a church that walks in the identity of a son or daughter and makes Jesus’ name famous to all who come in contact with us.
Current projects include:
- Church Facility: Our church buildings were built back in the 1960’s. The upkeep, renovation, and building projects are a constant issue for us, due to one of our buildings being “older”. We are seeking to make huge modifications to both our buildings.
- Single Mothers of Yomitan: We have an amazing relationship with our village’s (city) single-parent program. Here we partner with our local government and help provide social gatherings like worship concerts, special events like Christmas parties, gifts, and home education projects (baking cookies). This has been a great ministry to go outside the four walls of the church and invite the community into our building to build relationships with both parents and children. Our church family has taken the responsibility of sowing into this project, but we want to extend it to everyone.
- Hosting mission teams: Since 2024, we have opened up one of our facilities to house mission teams. We have hosted four YWAM teams (Amsterdam DTS, Kona DTS: Korea, Kona School of Worship, & YWAM School of Supernatural Ministry: Colorado Springs), and a few teams from Mainland Japan (Empowering Japan & Awakening Tokyo).
