Somewhere along the way I found out that “faith” is not pulling yourself up by your
bootstraps, gritting your teeth and working hard until you
accomplish the task. Instead it’s
completely surrendering yourself and your will to Jesus Christ. It’s learning to lean into Him and
listen to what He’s communicating to you.
Faith does not equal hard work! I have actually had this scripture quoted to me several
times from different people… “God helps them who help themselves …”. Have you read that in
the Bible? If you did you must have written it into the margin because it’s not there! Not even
in the Greek or Hebrew or Latin! Nope… nada… ain’t there.
However I have found this in Herbews 11:6. “Without faith it is impossible to please
Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who
diligently seek Him.” Now that’s FAITH!
He rewards us for surrendering to Him and leaning on Him instead of ourselves!
