Joe Martin has known the Lord since 1973, having served in most types of ministry raised a family, and had a career in manufacturing. He had spent several years working in prayer, freedom, and benevolence ministries when his life changed with the death of his wife.
But God! His gifts and callings are without repentance. the Lord began to fulfill dreams that had appeared dead for almost 40 years. Joe was team driver on a mission trip in 2012 when the Lord spoke to his heart at dawn
on a mountain top in Honduras.
“You have a calling: Follow Me and I will make you a fisher of men [Matthew 4:19, the first Scripture highlighted to Joe when he was reborn].
You have a commission: GO, strengthen the churches.”
Joe had long sensed a special stirring when ministering to missionaries, pastors, leaders and mentoring those learning to lead. This led to the creation of the ministry Word of Fire.
In order to strengthen the churches, we must strengthen the missionaries, pastors, and leaders. They experience the same issues with family, people, joys, victories, pains, and frustrations as do we. Yet they experience life often in very isolated and sometimes hostile environments.
The ultimate goal of this ministry is to see the Lord’s glory over all the earth through a strong globally connected church which is fulfilling His expression in Isaiah 56: 7 “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
